What is Deadstock Fabric?
Deadstock refers to presumably surplus fabric that is sitting around, either as (i) leftovers that a brand didn't use/is not part of a plan for future use, or (ii) that textile mills have been unable to sell. Traditionally, brands would hold on to their excess fabrics for a few seasons and then send them to the landfills. The idea behind using deadstock fabric is that by purchasing it and turning into new items, it’s being saved from a landfill and turned into something useful.
